The FLS Luxembourg Ski Federation was founded in 1974. It has 8 clubs as members, they represent athletes from alpine, nordic and snowboard skiing.
We have 1 professional nordic skier, Kari Peters who participated at the World Championship in Falun . Our alpine skiers regularly participate in FIS competitions, 2 athletes were participating at FOJE in Liechtenstein/Vorarlberg and 2 at the world championship in Vail.. Stages are organised by the FLS even for the very young skiers in Landgraf, Tignes, Villard de Lans, St Christop...The Luxembourg National Championship for nordic and alpine skiing take place each year in Adelboden Switzerland whereas the Snowboard Championship takes place in Achenkirch Austria in January. Although we do not have mountains to ski, skiing is very popular in Luxembourg. Most people will drive around 6 hours to France, Switzerland, Austria to spend a long weekend or school holiday in winter to ski..Indoor skiing is possible at 40 minute drive from Luxembourg in Amnéville France.
